Hilton Worldwide announced the launch of the Tapestry Collection. It will be made up of a collection of existing independent hotels and will be one step below (upscale…three to four stars) Hilton’s existing Curio Collection (upper upscale…four to five stars) in terms of hotel amenities.
The Tapestry Collection is not expected to include any current Hilton Worldwide hotels, so this means that a number of hotels will be joining the Honors program. The first hotels are expected to open under the Tapestry Collection flag starting in Fall 2017.
While specific hotels weren’t disclosed, Hilton did say that the Tapestry Collection will launch with seven hotels in six locations:
Another 35 hotels are reported to be negotiating with Hilton on joining the Tapestry Collection.
*This is pure speculation, but it’s possible that the Warren, NJ location will be the Somerset Hills Hotel, especially given that it’s the only hotel, independent or otherwise, that’s actually in Warren, NJ.

Like the Curio Collection, travelers should expect Tapesetry Collection hotels to be less standardized and cookie-cutter-ish than chain hotels. Hilton’s marketing folks say that the Tapestry Collection is aimed at millennials and compare the Tapestry Collection as akin to DoubleTree in terms of amenities, with the Curio Collection being akin to the flagship full-service Hilton brand.
