Use the Marriott Rewards Point Calculator to determine how many Marriott Rewards points, or partner airline miles, you will earn for your stay at any of the 19 Marriott brands. The calculator will auto-update as you enter information about your stay. Instructions and details are included below the calculator.

Marriott Rewards Point Calculator: Points or Miles Earned Per Stay
Instructions: Your Stay and Elite Status
Hotel Region: Select the region of the world in which the hotel is located. Some platinum arrival gifts and partner airline miles are dependent on hotel location.
Marriott Hotel Brand: Select the Marriott brand for your stay. You can only select one brand at a time. All 19 of Marriott’s hotel brands are included in the calculator: AC Hotels, Autograph Collection, Courtyard by Marriott, Delta, Edition, ExecuStay, Fairfield Inn, Gaylord, JW Marriott, Marriott, Marriott Executive Apartments, Marriott Vacation Club, Moxy, Protea, Renaissance, Residence Inn, Ritz-Carlton, SpringHill Suites, and TownePlace Suites.
# of Nights: Select the number of nights for your stay, from 1 to 30 nights.
Room Rate: Enter the nightly room rate for your room, including any mandatory resort fees but excluding taxes. If you are staying multiple days and your room rate changes during your stay, use the average room rate across all of the nights of your stay as your room rate. For example, if you are staying three nights with nightly rates of $170, $185, and $203, you would enter your average room rate of “$186” as your room rate in the calculator. If you are using a “Cash + Points rate,” you should enter ‘0’ for your room rate since any cash spent on your room rate will not accrue points (or air miles); you are still eligible for other point bonuses and promotions like the Platinum Arrival Gift.
Taxes: Enter the taxes for your entire stay. You do not earn Marriott Rewards points directly on lodging taxes paid, but you will earn bonus Marriott Rewards points if you use a co-branded Chase Marriott Rewards or bonus SPG points if you use a American Express Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) credit card to pay for your stay, since the credit card issuers will issue you bonus Marriott Rewards points for all spending at Marriott brands, including taxes.
Other Qualifying Charges: Enter the total (and not nightly) cost of anticipated “other qualifying charges” from your stay other than your room rate. Eligible charges include food and beverage, telephone, laundry, pay-per-view movies, entertainment and recreational facilities, and other incidental charges…all which must be posted to your room folio in order to be points-earning eligible.
You can only incur other qualifying charges at Autograph Collection, Delta, JW Marriott, Marriott, Marriott Vacation Club, and Renaissance brands. You cannot earn Marriott Rewards points on non-room-rate charges at other brands. The calculator automatically tracks whether or not your folio charges are eligible, based on hotel brand, when calculating how many points you will earn.
Marriott Rewards Elite Status: Select your elite status tier in the Marriott Rewards program at the time of your stay.
Points or Miles: You can elect to earn either Marriott Rewards points or air miles, with partner airlines, for your stay.
Platinum Arrival Gift: Elite Marriott Rewards members with Platinum status receive a “gift” upon arrival at all Marriott brands, except for ExecuStay and Marriott Executive Apartments. With the exception of Edition, Marriott Vacation Club, and Ritz-Carlton, Platinum members can choose between additional bonus points, ranging from 200 points to 500 points depending on brand, or a food/beverage amenity/credit.
Platinum members receive 500 bonus points automatically at Marriott Vacation Club. At Edition and Ritz-Carlton, Platinum members can choose between air miles or bonus Marriott Rewards points.
No Hotel Lounge | Points or Breakfast: Elite Marriott Rewards members with Gold or Platinum status receive free lounge access and continental breakfast at Autograph Collection, Delta, JW Marriott, Marriott, and Renaissance brands. If there is no lounge, or the lounge is closed, at one of these brands’ locations in the United States, Canada, or Europe, you can choose to receive free breakfast in the hotel restaurant or 750 points for every day in which breakfast is not offered in the lounge.
All resort locations, totaling approximately 200 hotels, are exempt from this benefit. Resort locations need not provide lounge access or breakfast…or points in lieu of either lounge access or breakfast.
An additional 14 hotels in the United States do not offer free breakfast in the hotel restaurant, even when the lounge is closed. These “exception locations” instead offer 1,000 points per day in lieu of breakfast for each day that their lounge is closed. These exception locations are: Boston Marriott Copley Place, Boston Marriott Long Wharf, Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, JW Marriott Washington DC, JW Marriott New Orleans, JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square, The Lexington New York City (Autograph Collection), JW Marriott Essex House New York City, Monterey Marriott, New York Marriott Marquis, Renaissance New York Hotel 57, Renaissance New York Times Square, San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina, The Algonquin Hotel Times Square, (Autograph Collection).
# of Nights Without Lounge Access: Select the number of nights for your stay, from 0 to 30 nights, for which you not receive lounge access. This figure must be no greater than the total number of nights for your stay and is used to calculate Marriott Rewards points you receive when the lounge is closed (or not available) and you elect to receive points instead of a free breakfast in the hotel restaurant (see above).
The calculator will add additional Marriott Rewards points for a closed lounge if, and only if, you meet all of the necessary conditions (see above).
Instructions: Seasonal Point Promotions
MegaBonus 2+ Stays: From May 27, 2017 through September 4, 2017, guests who have registered for this promotion will receive a flat 2,000 bonus Marriott Rewards points for each paid stay, starting with the second paid stay.
MegaBonus Different Brand Stay: From May 27, 2017 through September 4, 2017, guests who have registered for this promotion will receive a flat 2,000 bonus Marriott Rewards points for each paid stay with a different Marriott brand, starting with the second stay (at a different brand than your first stay).
Other Promotions: Use this field to enter any additional one-off bonus points you will receive for your stay that are otherwise not reflected elsewhere in the calculator.
Instructions: Co-Branded Credit Card
Using Co-Branded Credit Card: If you are paying with a co-branded Chase Marriott Rewards Premier credit card, you receive 5 Marriott Rewards points for every dollar spent at any of the Marriott brands. Your bonus points will post to your Marriott Rewards account when your credit card account statement posts.
Following Marriott’s buyout of Starwood, you can earn 2 SPG points per $1 spent at Marriott brands when paying with your AMEX SPG. With or without the credit card, you can also convert SPG points to Marriott Rewards points at a ratio of 1 SPG point to 3 Marriott points (and vice-versa).
If you select “AMEX SPG” as your co-branded credit card in the calculator, the calculator will automatically convert the SPG points you are earning to Marriott points (6 Marriott points per dollar spent on the AMEX SPG at Marriott brands). In actual practice, you will need to link your Marriott and SPG accounts and manually transfer the points.
The calculator assumes you are using U.S. versions of these co-branded credit cards.
Details: Point Earning Summary
Total Rewards Points Earned: This figure equals the total number of Marriott Rewards points that the calculator estimates you will earn for your stay based on the input you provided. The Points Earning Details section at the end of the calculator provides a breakout of how this figure was calculated.
Approximate Value of Points: This figures equals the estimated cash value of the total Marriott Rewards points the calculator estimates you will earn for your stay. The calculator uses Real World Machine’s latest value for one Marriott Rewards point.
Rewards Points Earning Rate: This figure represents how many Marriott Rewards points you will earn per dollar spent on your room rate and other qualifying charges for your stay. Fixed bonuses that do not vary based on the amount you spend (e.g., Platinum Arrival Gift) are factored into the calculation. Taxes and ineligible folio spending (i.e., non-room-rate folio spending at brands that do not award Rewards points for anything other than room rate) are only factored into the calculation if you are using a co-branded credit card.
Partner Miles Earned: This figure equals the total number of partner airline miles you will earn, provided you elected to receive air miles, and not Marriott Rewards points, for your stay. The earnings rate is also indicated. You cannot earn air miles at ExecuStay locations. Qantas air miles accrue at a different rate depending on whether or not your hotel is located in Australia; the calculator takes this into account.
The 42 mileage partners included in the calculator (alphabetical): Aeroflot, Aerolineas Argentina, Air Canada, Air China, Air France, Airberlin, Alaska, Alitalia, American Airlines, ANA, Asiana, Avianca, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Eastern, China Southern, Copa Airlines, Delta, Emirates, Etihad, Frontier, GOL / VARIG, Hawaiian, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Jet Airways, JetBlue, Korean Air, LAN, Lufthansa, Multiplus, Qantas, Qatar, Saudia, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, Southwest, TAP, Turkish Airlines, United, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic.
