Nights

Enter the number of nights for your stay.

Room Rate

Enter the nightly room rate for your room, excluding taxes and resort fees. If you are staying multiple days and your room rate changes during your stay, use the average room rate across all of the nights of your stay as your room rate. For example, if you are staying three nights with nightly rates of $174, $185, and $190, you would enter your average rate of “$183” as your room rate in the calculator.

If you are using a “Cash + Points rate,” you should only enter the money portion in this field. For example, if you are staying one night with a room rate of $150 + 25,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, enter only the $150 in the field.

Taxes and Resort Fees

Enter the taxes and resort fees for your room rate per night. You do not earn Marriott Bonvoy points directly on lodging taxes paid, but you will earn bonus Marriott Bonvoy points if you use a co-branded American Express or Chase credit card to pay for your stay, since the credit card issuers will issue you bonus Marriott Bonvoy points for all spending at Marriott brands, including taxes and resort fees.

Other Qualifying Charges for Stay

Enter the total (and not nightly) cost of anticipated “qualifying charges” from your stay, other than your room rate. Eligible charges include food and beverage, telephone, and pay-per-view movies, entertainment…all of which must be posted to your room folio in order to be points-earning eligible.

Gold elite members receive a welcome gift of points (and cannot choose another option). The bonus points are equal to half the points a higher-level elite member would receive.

Days with Closed Lounge

Enter the number of days in which the lounge at the hotel is closed or otherwise unavailable. This is only applicable if you are an Ambassador, Titanium, or Platinum member who is guaranteed lounge access at an Autograph Collection, Courtyard (non-US/Canada), Delta, JW Marriott, Le Méridian, Marriott, or Renaissance location.

Seasonal Promotion

Enter any points (per stay) that you are earning from targeted or seasonal promotions, like MegaBonus.

Pay with Co-Branded Credit Card

You receive additional points for paying for your stay with a co-branded American Express or Chase card. The rate at which you earn points per dollar spend varies by card:
